Elwin by 3xM Automation

3xM provides the software Elwin which is a CAE/CAD system for designing electrical circuit diagrams with special direction on automation projects. Easy and logical functions enables fast engineering of both simple and advanced solutions. The software is aimed to advanced automation engineers as well as to electricians with basic knowledge of designing.

Elwin is a standalone software. No other software needs to be installed.

 

Create professional looking electrical CAD drawings by simply using objects from up to 10 different databases

Select logic symbols from the database by simply find them in the list and insert to the drawing.
The standard Elwin installation comes with one IEC database full of different useful symbols which are ready to be inserted to your design.

Edit your project in the project tree. Here you can see all the pages in your project.
In one project - organize several different panels within the same or not same installation and location.

Edit your symbol and its properties.
The symbols can each hold the following information; connections, child symbols (cross ref), editable symbol texts, I/O info, engraving plates and components (from your component database)

Build your parent symbols with auxiliary and child symbols to create fully linked cross-references (of course cross-references are online!)
Double-click the cross-reference to quickly open the reference page.

By one simple click you can create various lists to your project

All  lists are fully editable in the database.

There are the following lists available in Elwin:
* Cable pull list
* Cable connection list (multi-core connection diagram as a list)
* Wire list (internal wiring plan)
* Bill of material (the components used in the project)
* Spare part list (components used in your project that are marked as a recommended spare part)
* Purchase order lists (components, cables and wires)
* Engraving plate layouts
* Table of contents (as lists with or without snapshots of each drawing)
* Revision list
* I/O point list
and more...

Edit your logic symbols to perfection in the database editor

Edit your page headers to fully customize your drawing design
Insert graphic objects (like line and rectangle), pictures (png, jpg or bmp) and text objects (static texts or variable text types) to your page header.

Edit your components in the database to create your bill of material list, recommended spare part list and purchase order list in the project editing mode.
You can import from Excel via file or copy/paste.
